…you are about to embark on an important mission or journey.

Having everyone on the same page increases chances for success and facilitates communication and action.

This briefing is given by receivers of the message back to the sender immediately after receiving the mission statement or description of the main effort.

The receivers brief the sender on:

  • Their understanding of his intent.
  • Their specific task and purpose.
  • The relationship between their unit's missions and the other unit's in the operation.

Also known as confirmation brief.

Therefore:

Have others brief what they think has just been said back to the sender so you can check if the intent is well understood; clarify when needed.
